Annual Salary: $55,000 - 60,000 (This is a one year grant position)
Mother Caroline Academy is seeking an innovative, collaborative, and student-centered Coding & Makerspace Teacher who understands the developmental needs of girls in grades 3–8 and is committed to closing opportunity gaps through engaging, hands-on, and joyful learning experiences.
The ideal candidate will design and deliver interactive instruction that helps students develop foundational computer science skills, creativity, problem-solving abilities, and confidence as learners and makers. This educator will cultivate a classroom environment that encourages curiosity, experimentation, collaboration, and responsible risk-taking while helping students explore how technology can be used to create, communicate, and solve real-world challenges.
The Coding & Makerspace Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering standards-aligned lessons in coding, design thinking, and makerspace learning that integrate communication, critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration. This teacher will use data to monitor student growth, differentiate instruction to support diverse learning needs, and create inclusive systems that expand participation among underrepresented students in computer science and STEM learning opportunities.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with colleagues to integrate technology and innovation across the curriculum while contributing to a vibrant, mission-driven school community. This educator will maintain strong classroom culture and high expectations for students, communicate regularly with families, and continuously refine curriculum and instructional practices through research, feedback, and professional development.
Successful candidates will demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills, a growth mindset, and a commitment to educational equity and student-centered learning. A passion for working in a fast-paced, collaborative school environment and a deep belief in the potential of every child are essential.
